A passionate voice for industry change, she recently added UK Jewellery Designer of the Year 2017 to her growing list of accolades.

1)      What is your name and where do you live?

Arabel Lebrusan, Brighton UK.

2)      What is your favourite soulventure?

To live and work in different places. I had a taste of it when in September 2016 I decided to finally try life as a digital nomad. I packed my bag and my computer, left my employees in charge of running the day to day of the brand, and went backpacking in paradise for seven months with my child and partner. We had the most amazing time.

3)      What’s something that no-one would guess about you?

I have a pseudonym. I also work as a visual artist under another name…

4)      What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

Take time to meditate. Do less, breath more.

5)      If you could be doing anything, anywhere, right now, what would it be?

I would probably be on the beach on a Motu in French Polynesia, running my empire from my laptop while making some interesting art.

6)      Of what are you most proud?

To always have done things I believe in. From making ethical jewellery, when everyone used to say it wasn’t possible, to working while travelling and managing to combine motherhood with everything else.

7)      Who do you most admire and why?

Livia Firth is one of my role models. I totally admire what she is doing with her sustainability consultancy Eco-Age. As an ethical jewellery designer and campaigner, I want to make an impact, create change and make the world a better place, so to see her doing just that is wonderful.

8)      Best kiss of your life?

While diving.

9)      What is a new skill you’d like to learn (and why?)

To fix cars and motorbikes. I just don’t get why we don’t learn mechanics at school…

All four at different times of the year.

11)   If you could say one thing to lots of people, what would it be?

Be your best self and smile, it’s free!
